Aim: Trial two modules. Drawing with rope and magnet rope person
Outcomes / Reflection: It was great to test these two modules with students and staff that we had developed a relationship with earlier that morning when we presented the Boy & the Ball. Drawing with the marker in the rope on the paper wasn’t that effective as you can’t see the outline on the paper. If this were to be pursued, it would require a much thicker marker and, therefore, a thicker rope to accommodate the marker.
The magnet rope person worked well with its gradual assemblage. Thoughts occurred if this figure or its surroundings could be added to the performance, e.g. other people, trees, a home. Or this rope figure could come off the white corflute and into the space. Dave had the idea of the rope coming, via illusion, from within the corflute board. That is corflute with a false back.
The magnets are very sensitive ( strong and weak) and need attention. The powerful magnet easily break if they into contact with each other.
